Water Walker

Water Walker

Focus Scriptures: Psalm 18:29, Matthew 14:22-33,

The story of Jesus walking on water has been used in messages many times. From Sunday school to the main message preached in the service this story has gone forth and spoken to many hearts. That’s what His word always does. However, as I was reading it during a challenging time in my life the Holy Spirit gave me a wow! moment. You know, one of those moments that something that you’ve read over and over before just kind of gets a whole new revelation to it that makes you say wow! Yeah, that’s what He did for me.

The messages found in this story speak of courage, having faith and not fear, learning to get out of the boat to walk on the water etc, etc. All true and amazing. But I think one major thing gets left out sometimes. One thing that we should always remember first. Something I remember hearing the Holy Spirit say to me so clearly that one day…”You serve a God who walks on water.”

After hearing Him speak that it gave me such encouragement to persevere during that particular trial. I serve a God who walks on water. This story starts with Jesus walking on water to his disciples. He just walked straight onto water. Something so easy for Him to do but too wild for us to fathom. We are called to “walk on water” and to not let the fear of sinking keep us in the boat and all of that good stuff, but can I just remind you just who it is that walks on water like it’s solid ground…Jesus. The all powerful, almighty, sovereign One. This is the one that so many of us serve.

And because of this amazing God that can walk on water we can overcome any obstacle. We can because of who He is. As King David wrote, “…with my God I can scale any wall.” We can have victory because of who He is. We can because He IS. There is not and will never be no other that can or IS. He is the God who walks on water. Choose to walk with the One who can.

As always,

Be pretty. Be you.

You are mightily loved.
