The Waiting Room

The Waiting Room

Focus Scriptures: Isaiah 55:11, Isaiah 40:31

The dreaded waiting room. The place of uncertainty. The place of the unknown. The place of long suffering. No one, and I mean no one, looks forward to hearing they need to have a seat in the waiting room. Or to take their place in line. Oh my gosh I hate waiting in lines lol! Anyone else?

We can all think of something that we're waiting on to happen. Waiting for promises that are yet to come to fruition. Waiting for God’s timing on certain things. Maybe it's a new job opportunity, or maybe you've been praying and waiting for marriage, or a precious baby. There are so many things that can go on that list. I've been in that position...more than once. And I’m still there.

One thing about God is He’s so patient. Which means He takes His sweet time. And I don’t mean that in a negative connotation, although sometimes I prefer no sweet time if I'm being honest lol But it really is Him taking His good and sweet time because what He has is planned is just that, good and sweet.

I've learned that it takes diligence to not allow the questions and the unknowing to make us discouraged, hopeless, or doubtful. But with that same diligence we can press in to filling our hearts and minds with His truth, trust, and hope. It’s easier to give in to unbelief because we don’t see what we’re waiting for, or we don’t see what God is doing behind the scenes. And believe me when I say I'm right there with you. It gets hard. Especially if it's been years.

But when we choose to make the most of our waiting rooms by learning to see God's goodness in the process our strength and endurance come. We then exchange our words of "it's never going to happen" for words of expectation. We're able to remain steadfast in the things He's promised us. We no longer view it as wasting time, but as opportunity. Opportunity to draw closer. Opportunity to grow. Opportunity to know Him more. Opportunity to deepen our trust in Him.

If God has made a promise to you and given you His word about something know He will not forget. He hasn't forgotten you or what He's said. When the Lord says He will do something He can be trusted to do it. His word never comes back void. It always accomplishes what it’s been sent out to do. So don’t get tired. Don’t get tired of trusting His timing. Don’t get tired of believing. It’s coming. Hard as it may be, just wait. He will come. It will happen. Your name will be called. Your promise will be fulfilled. And the outcome will be worth it all.

As always,

Be pretty, Be you

You are so loved.
