Rest, Assured.

Rest, Assured.

Focus Scriptures: Psalm 23:1-3, Philippians 1:6, 2 Corinthians 1:20

I’ve come to realize that I’m not a good rester lol It’s hard for me to just lay back and rest. To stop and take in all that God is doing in the moment. It’s hard for me to lay down in green pastures like David says in Psalm. But just as much as the Lord is for us doing, He is also for us resting. And resting assured is still a form of doing.

We can rest, assured that it’s not wasting time or delaying it. We can rest, assured that whatever promises He made are still yes and amen. We can rest, assured that He who began the good work is faithful to complete it. He’s still working while we’re resting, which is why we can have that assurance.

If you’re like me then it can feel impossible to be assured in your resting period. It can feel almost contradictory to say I’m going to rest, assured, but feel like nothing is getting done toward your future. But what I’ve learned, and am still learning, is that the Lord will not let you move until you learn how to rest in Him completely assured.

At the right time He’ll tell you it’s time to get up and get back to work. But until then, if He’s calling you to rest then lay in those green pastures. Enjoy the moments. There’s purpose there. Assuredly.

As always,

Be Pretty. Be you.

You are loved.
