Potter & Clay

Focus Scriptures: 64:8, Ephesians 2:10
I've always wanted to take a pottery class. To be able to create and mold something on that potters wheel is so fascinating to me. I highly doubt I'll be any good at it, and will mostly likely come out with a lopsided bowl, but still interested lol What a thought though, to know my hands formed every curve and groove of the clay and smoothed out every lump and bump. To be able to crumble it all up again and remake it if it's not to my liking before sticking it in the fire to be permanent. And to come out with as smooth of a pottery piece as possible in the end. I can't help but believe that I would beam with delight whenever I see it and be proud of this one-of-a-kind piece that started out as a lump of clay.
Now imagine the Lord looking at you with that same delight, that same proud smile and look in His eye at what He is molding with you. As funny as it may sound, we all start off as that lump of clay, and sometimes may even feel like a lump of clay lol. But the Lord's gentle and caring hands put us on His pottery wheel and begin to create, and mold, and form. And yes, there are times where it'll feel like He's crumbled you up and started over, but it's only because He makes all things new, over and over again. But there He is spinning you and creating something that He loves. Pottery pieces consist of things that are of good use. Things that are necessary and valued for everyday use. This is us. He molds and shapes so we can be divinely essential. And He is the master potter who has every right to form what He knows is good.
He'll smooth out the bumps of the past. He'll curve out every turn in the destiny He has for your life. He'll carve out every groove for the unexpected twist and turns that will happen. He's the perfect Potter. Only His hands create what lasts. Only His hands makes what can be used for glorious things. He'll use every bit of clay to make His Master piece. Are you willing to let Him mold you and form you? There's so much out there that wants to be the "potter" and mold your life. So much that will appear good but it's not. Their "hands" can't do what His do. Let Him form you and I promise you'll love what He makes.
As always,
Be pretty. Be you.
You are valuably loved.
