About The Heart

Focus Scriptures: Psalm 34:18, Psalm 147:3, Psalm 56:8

I think women are naturally prone to being cautious. We like to assess before we proceed. Probably why women tend to live longer than men lol Actually I’m going to say it’s definitely why lol

But in all seriousness I believe it’s a certain discernment we have. We’re cautious with our children, marriages, relationships, friendships, etc. We’re cautious because our hearts get involved. We can’t help it. We’re made to feel and connect deeply. A God given trait that is good, but throughout life things happen to our hearts, and those things aren’t always good.

Our hearts get hurt, or betrayed, or broken somehow. Mine has, many of times. And so what happens is we get especially cautious with our hearts. And it’s understandable. Why would anyone want to share their heart when it’s been hurt in the past? Or maybe even presently.

I’ll be the first to say that I would not blame you for never sharing it again. But I’ll also be the first to say that God can be completely trusted with that heart of yours. I know because He’s had mine for years and Has never misused it. He knows your heart because He formed it. He is close to the brokenhearted. He loves and takes care of your heart. He wants to heal any area of it that’s been hurt. He cares for it.

We can come to him, heart in hands and tell Him what has hurt us. We can be honest because He already knows. He loves us.

God isn’t like us. He’s better. He doesn’t hurt, He heals. He doesn’t lie or betray, He speaks truth and is trustworthy. He doesn’t break our hearts, He restores them. Whose hands are better to place our hearts into than the One who fashioned it together? With Him you can throw that heart caution to the wind knowing that His love will protect and cover it tenderly. Your heart is safe with Him.

As always,

Be pretty, Be you

You are so loved.
