Get Your Hopes Up

For those that read or have read the bible you'll know that some chapters have what I describe as subheadings in them. A certain amount of verses that are all about that one subheading. Totally not explaining it correctly, but you get the gist. lol So as I was reading and studying for today's topic one of those subheadings stood out to me. It's titled, "God's Promises Bring Hope." His promises bring hope.
That statement may seem very simple or ordinary but His promises are His very spoken word, and His word is living and active. Meaning that it does something in us whenever we hear it or read it. No matter how we feel. So each time we receive a promise from Him, or we remember a promise given by Him, we are infused with more hope. Our hearts and minds get encouraged and are brought back into alignment with Him.
And yes, sometimes it seems like we have to recite His word to ourselves over and over again all day, but that's ok. That's more than ok. There's nothing better to fill ourselves up with than His word and promises.
We won't always understand what He may be doing in the moment. His ways are higher and not like ours. So we won't always know why certain things are happening or not happening. I have found myself in some very difficult circumstances where if I did not hold onto His promises, if I did not bring them to mind, if I did not anchor myself in them, I would have given up. But He is my eternal hope. I have an eternal hope of glory in Him.
Whatever circumstance you may find yourself in you can always get and keep your hopes up with Him. A song I love says this, "I'm gonna hold to His hand, God's unchanging hand. I'm gonna build my hope on things eternal. I'm gonna hold to God's unchanging hand." I encourage you to put your hope in Him. He doesn't change. He's everlasting, He's constant, He's steady. He IS hope.
As Always,
Be Pretty, Be You
You are so loved.
