By Faith

By Faith

Focus Scripture: Hebrews 11, 2 Corinthians 5:7

Faith takes faith. In my humble, non perfect opinion, I believe it takes faith just to have faith. I have my faith in the existence of the Lord. No doubts in my mind that He is real, and living, and active. I’ve felt Him, heard Him, seen Him move. But to have faith for the things I’m waiting and hoping for? For some strange reason that’s so much harder and requires me to have faith to have faith.

God’s word clearly says that we walk by faith and not by sight. We walk believing in what we cannot see. We walk believing and knowing in Him and who He is. But we are to also apply that to the things in our lives that we may be waiting for and have been praying for. And to keep hoping takes faith. To keep the faith takes faith in itself. To say I have faith in the faith is a daily thing. Because it gets hard to believe sometimes. It gets tiring. It gets frustrating. Believe me, I get it.

I’ve been doing ATP for almost 2 years now and when I say I’ve needed to keep going by faith I mean it. This past winter was the hardest and driest that I’ve experienced. And yes, this may happen often but it’s still hard nonetheless. My husband and I have needed to walk by faith in some areas of our lives that look so uncertain. Believing that God is true to His word and that He loves us. With everything going on in my life it’s caused me to question a lot. That’s usually what happens right? We start to question if we should keep going. We start to believe that what we hope for will never happen. We can grow tired and weary in believing and hoping.

This is why I say faith takes faith.

But God is so kind and so good to come and remind us of His faithfulness. He reminds us that we’re not forgotten. He reminds us that all of His promises are yes and amen. He is faithful to strengthen our faith. He’s kind enough to not hold our questions and frustrations against us. At just the right time He encourages and uplifts us with His word and love. No matter what it is that you’re believing for, praying for, hoping for, know that He will finish what He starts and He will respond to our faith. Just keep going. Remind your heart who He is. Remind yourself of the perfect track record of His faithfulness. Remind your faith that it’s founded and grounded in Him and He will never disappoint.

As always,

Be pretty. Be you.

You are faithfully loved
